Data School collaborates with governments, knowledge institutions, businesses, and civil society organizations to examine the impact of data and digitalization on society. We do this through applied research on commission, as well as through education and workshops for professionals.

“Data School demonstrates how science and practice can reinforce one another through collaboration: with government, the media, and other stakeholders. We are building a future in which research directly contributes to real-world challenges.”

Karin van Es, Humanities lead Data School

Research

Mutual understanding is central to our collaborations. We do not believe in just presenting research results, but in a process where we actively involve partners and arrive at insights together. By combining our expertise in data analysis and ethics with the domain knowledge of our partners, we jointly build a deeper and broader understanding of digital issues.

Education and workshops

In addition to research, Data School provides customized workshops and courses. We like to convey our domain knowledge through dynamic, interactive teaching where there is room for participants’ input and experiences. Building on our years of experience, we develop education that matches the interests and desires of our partners.

Topics we offer courses on include, among others:

  • AI literacy
  • Working with data analysis
  • Data ethics in government and journalism
