Vacancy Student-Assistant for Impact Projects

Deadline: 1st of June 2024

Research with an Impact in Society!

We are seeking a creative, critical, and curious student to help us plan, organize, and coordinate projects with our various academic and professional stakeholders. If you want to gather hands-on experience in projects that build bridges across domains and disciplines, then this is your chance to enrich your academic profile!

What’s the job?

  • Organizing events (networking events and conferences) where university researchers engage with external organizations and NGOs to explore collaboration opportunities.
  • Researching impact strategies and measures
  • Conceptualising and writing ‘Impact Stories’ to showcase the impact of collaborative research in society.
  • Compiling ‘Best Practices’ and resources to help researchers maximize their impact.
  • Adminstering the content management system.

What’s the offer?

We offer a part-time position (0.2 FTE, equivalent to one day per week), starting September 1, 2024. The initial contract will last 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance. The compensation is in line with a standard student assistant salary.

Who are we looking for?

You can work independently, think along, and you are not shy of sharing your ideas – or indicating where you need guidance and support. A strong work ethos and clear communication skills are the key here. Teamwork is essential at Data School but that also means that you can complete tasks by yourself in a timely manner when needed. We offer you a lot of freedom and that comes with responsibility!

Other important qualities for this position are:

  • Preferably, you are master’s student; strong preference will be given to a (research) master’s student who is still a student in the 2024-2025 academic year
  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in the Dutch language is a plus
  • Interest in the impact of technology on society
