Applied Research

The Data School is a platform for applied research of data issues. Jointly with external organisations, our students work on an assignment; they provide our external partners with an exploratory analysis of a data set, investigate the impact of datafication for our partner’s organisation or market and reflect on policy options.

The Datafied Society

The Datafied Society is the academic research platform investigating the impact of datafication on public management, public media and public space. Topics are among other public media and big data, fragmenting audiences and filter bubbles, smart cities and citizens. Research is can be carried out in cooperation with a consortium of public and private partners. The Datafied Society brings together an interdisciplinary group of scholars from different disciplines: media studies, ethics, sociology, linguistics, geo sciences, informatics and statistics.
